UNITED SKATES, directed and produced by Dyana Winkler and Tina Brown, debuts MONDAY, FEB. 18 (8:00-9:30 p.m. ET/PT) on HBO. John Legend is an executive producer of the documentary feature, which received the Documentary Audience Award at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival.

As America’s last standing roller rinks are threatened with closure, UNITED SKATES spotlights a community of thousands who fight in a racially charged environment to save the underground African-American subculture of roller skating, which has been overlooked by the mainstream for generations, while giving rise to great musical talents. The documentary features interviews with hip-hop legends like Salt-N-Pepa, Coolio and Vin Rock of Naughty by Nature.

UNITED SKATES is directed and produced by Dyana Winkler and Tina Brown; executive producers, Jeffrey Soros, Simon Horsman, Julie Parker Benello, Jim Butterworth, Daniel J. Chalfen, Brenda Robinson, Nion McEvoy, Patty Quillin, Tina Brown, Matthew Peterson, Mike Jackson, Ty Stiklorius, John Legend; co-executive producers, Josh Alexander, Maida Lynn, Johnny Nunez; edited by Katharine Garrison; cinematographer, Matthew Peterson ACS; original music composed by Jongnic Bontemps, Jim Winkler.
