Atlanta Dream Re-Sign Blake Dietrick to Contract

Dietrick returns to the Dream on Training Camp Contract

 The Atlanta Dream have re-signed guard Blake Dietrick to a training camp contract, the team announced Saturday.

Making the team after originally signing a training camp contract prior to last season, Dietrick competed in 26 games off the bench for the Dream in 2018 with averages of 1.4 points and 0.5 rebounds in 7.2 minutes. Her best game of the season came at Chicago on June 27 when she finished with career highs in points (12), rebounds (4), field goals made (4), three-pointers made (4) and minutes played (23).

“I am excited to welcome Blake back to the Dream,” head coach Nicki Collen. “She was a big part of our success last season. It is so important to have someone like Blake that will do all of the little things to help our team get better.”

This offseason, Dietrick suited up for Lointek Gernika Bizkaia in Spain. She averaged 13.7 and 4.3 assists in 15 Spanish League games, while upping her average to 15.1 points and 5.0 assists per EuroCup contest.  She was named the Interperformance Player of the Week during Round 14 of the LFB season.

Dietrick previously played in the WNBA for the Seattle Storm and San Antonio Stars.

The 5-10 Princeton grad led the Tigers to a 30-0 regular season her senior year averaging 15.1 points, 4.9 assists and 4.5 rebounds. Highly accomplished she was Ivy League Player of the Year, two-time All-Ivy League first team, seven-time Ivy Player of the Week and led the program to win its first NCAA tournament game in school history.

The Dream have all its core pieces returning from its franchise-best 23-win season, including multi-year contracts with guard Tiffany Hayes and center Elizabeth Williams.
