I do not know people who like Mondays, but I think if every Monday ends with a concert like Joyner Lucas concert. Certainly, the first day of the week will have more supporters. I have not been to a concert for a long time, where there was such energy that after a show allows me to stay awake for a long time.
Joyner Lucas concert started on Monday at 20:30 in Melkweg. The Melkweg (Dutch for “Milky Way”) is a popular music venue and cultural center in Amsterdam, Netherlands. It is located on the Lijnbaansgracht, near the Leidseplein – the prime nightlife square of Amsterdam.
When I arrived, a long queue of fans waiting at the entrance to be able to see the concert. It took a while to get inside and a huge crowd of fans appeared to my eyes. I should not have been surprised, the tickets were sold out. Miraculously, I managed to break through the crowd to the front and found a place on one step of the stairs, sharing it with another fan.
Minute after minute, there was a tension in the crowd. Stink, sweat, excitement mixed with a little impatience. Then, someone appears on the stage, none other than Joyner Lucas. Yes! Finally, an American rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer, poet, and actor from Worcester, Massachusetts appeared, and the crowd went crazy. In particular, when Joyner Lucas sang “I Love” from the new project “ADHD”
In a short way, I can describe this whole evening: hands up, songs on the lips of hundreds of fans, small mosh pit, amazing energy. The good show did not spoil even two-fold problems with the sound system.
During the concert, Joyner Lucas also shared his observations about Amsterdam. From his speech, it seemed that he liked the city very much, but our incredible number of moving bikes, boats, and skaters in one city was crazy and impressive, “And everything running on the same roads!” as he said.
At the end of the concert, another gig: the rapper found the wallet of one of the fans on the stage. He wanted to give it to the owner by reading his name from the ID document, but it wasn’t so easy. Amsterdam is known for the internationality of its citizens, so it is sometimes unknown how to pronounce someone’s name. Joyner Lucas managed and the wallet found itself in the hands of the owner.
Hands down, it was one of the concerts I will remember for a long time.
