Concerts draw fans from all corners of the globe, but pop-up stores?
Those can be hit-or-miss.
It turns out fans are just as enthusiastic about Post Malone’s merch as they are about his music. Fans traveled from Wisconsin to Japan, Texas to Ireland to be the first in line on Crosby street this Sunday in NYC and shop at the rapper’s latest collab – the Bud Light/Posty Co line of tees, sweats and jackets.
Bartenders handed out Bud Light in the back while shoppers were escorted in 20 at a time to purchase designs “inspired by Post’s tattoos, lyrics from the new album and Bud Light.”
Doors opened at 2pm and as fans lined the block in the rain, rumors spread that Malone was en route from Japan and expected to show. Merchandise and alcohol was limited in choice but not in quantity and the drinking and shopping continued until the rapper posted on social media that he was on his way – and the party started in earnest.
Malone greeted fans outside and slowly made his way in, greeting fans, friends and family alike with hugs and handshakes, making his way back to the beers where the Grammy-winner bartended for giddy fans and toasted the crowd.
Most in the crowd had changed into their gear and Malone, in matching tee, moved easily through the crowd of fans taking selfies, recording messages, listening to stories, hugging, mugging and even handing out tickets to the concert the next evening.
Honestly, the gear wasn’t that dynamic, but when a die-hard fans gets a tee hugged by the man himself?
The whole evening becomes magic.
