The Faint stopped in Chicago, Friday night in support of their new album “Egowerk”. The band played a high energy show to packed house, ready for a long night of dancing. Fans were lined up well before doors opened, and the band rewarded them for their enthusiasm playing songs from seven of their eight released albums.

The Faint played only four songs from their latest effort, relying heavily on 2001’s hit album “Danse Macabre” much to the crowd’s delight. The energy of the crowd was palpable throughout the evening, and the band continued to feed off of it all night long.

As the band bounced back and forth form album to album, the crowd began to build in anticipation of what could possibly come next. As the first few chords of “I Disappear” began to play, the audience hit a fever pitch of excitement and never looked back.

As the band ran through an intense three song run of “Evil Voices”, “Let the Poison Spill from Your Throat” and “Skylab1979” the crowd danced away with seemingly endless energy. The band closed their set with fan favorites “Worked up So Sexual” and “Paranoiattack” but their fans weren’t ready to let the night end. Their boisterous chants for an encore, were no doubt heard from outside the venue. The Faint rewarded the faithful crowed with a three song encore before finally calling it a night. Needless to say, the capacity crowd went home sweaty, exhausted, and content.

The Faint were supported by two opening acts. Closeness, made up of the husband and wife team of The Faint front man Todd Fink and Orenda Fink, and Ritual Howls, a three member post-punk band hailing from Detroit.
