The “Hottest” thing to do on a frigid cold November night in Atlanta was to attend the Kim Petras “The Clarity Tour” held at the historic Atlanta venue The Tabernacle. Kim Petras is a German born singing & Songwriting pop star now based in Los Angeles, Ca.

She became a media darling at a young age after undergoing gender transition. For almost a decade, Kim has been honing her skills and forging a following independently which led to the release of her debut single “I don’t want it all.”Tonight we join her in celebrating her first studio album “Clarity” released in June of this year.

Anyone who hangs out in Atlanta knows most Atlantans hate the cold and rarely go out for anything. But on this night that old adage did not hold true. Kim Petras fans came out in droves decked out in a glow of freedom to be who they are without judgment or care.

Many of them arrived without coats which given I had on my wool coat, scarf, skull cap and was still cold says a lot! Prior to tonight, I had never seen Kim live so I had no preconceived notions of what to expect. So, when she came out at the top of the stairs, lights blazing all white, decked out in a cute black n white doll baby dress we knew we were in store for something special.

I loved the fact that although her stage set was amazing she kept things simple. No big band behind her, no dance team joining her, no fireworks…. Just her voice, her keyboard player and her fans. Songs like “Icy”, “Meet the Parents” and “Shinin” were met with cheers, screams and of course a homemade chorus. A special night had by all. Atlanta welcomed and enjoyed the new “Princess of POP.”
