Ai Bendr shares a bouncy new anthem entitled “Coffee” today. Once again, the 18-year-old songstress flexes her vocal prowess as a dynamic performer, strong pen game as a writer, and undeniable charisma as a rising star. On the track, twinkling keys glimmer through organic beats as her voice flutters towards an energetic and emotionally charged hook, “Never met somebody who won’t wanna make you coffee…I just need you on me.” It’s a delightfully caffeinated bop brewed up with a kick. The song is accompanied by an evocative visual that spotlights Ai, as choreographed by Matty Peacock, in first person view as she dances throughout Los Angeles.
Just last month, she unveiled “I Like You.” It instantly reeled in critical praise. Variance described it as “an intimate and unguarded offering” and exclaimed, “Newcomer Ai Bendr’s year continues to gain momentum.” Meanwhile, Grimy Goods called it “a cascade of sound and emotion strung together by echoey vocals.” The track has already generated 115K Spotify streams and counting. Ai Bendr was recently a cover star for DOE MAGAZINE, pre-order the issue here, and check out her cover below.
Her breakout, “Love Me Low” made its television debut on HBO’s smash hit Euphoria (Jules’ special episode) and has already racked up critical press acclaim including TEEN VOGUE, NYLON, REFINERY 29, and EUPHORIA, who hailed the artist a “bubbling potential that needs to be on your music radar for 2021”.
