Aldous Harding Announces Sydney & Melbourne Headline Shows for August 2019

New Zealand gothic folk artist ALDOUS HARDING has announced a pair of intimate shows for this August, performing at Supersense: Festival of the Ecstatic at Arts Centre Melbourne on Sunday 25 August, before taking in Sydney’s Metro Theatre on Monday 26 August.
Aldous Harding’s recently released third album ‘DESIGNER‘ is her most critically acclaimed to date. Since its release last month, Designer has been heralded on radio globally, being named Album of the Day on BBC 6, and earning feature album spots on 2SER, RTR FM, PBS, RRR and FBi.
Tastemakers around the world have echoed The Line Of Best Fit’s sentiment, that “Harding is an artist carving her own future without apology”, with the promise of experiencing her latest masterpiece live exhilarating global audiences.
An enigmatic and unforgettable performer known for picking apart the trappings of the folk singer-songwriter, Harding uses the stage to bring her intimate songs to life in new ways. In February, she offered fans their first taste of Designer’s specific brand of surreal with the release of lead single ‘The Barrel’. The intriguing video cemented why Harding has developed such an intense following in recent years, and hinted at what she’s likely to share with audiences on her Australian tour.
Joining Harding at her Metro Theatre show is prolific Melbourne-via-New Zealand singer-songwriter, Sarah Mary Chadwick. With masterful new album ‘THE QUEEN WHO STOLE THE SKY‘ just released, Chadwick will be raring to deliver her arresting live show to Sydney music lovers.
Aldous Harding last brought her otherworldly live show to Australia for headline shows alongside sets at Laneway Festival, Fairgrounds, and Meredith Music festivals in 2017 and 2018. She has supported Florence + The Machine; collaborated with Marlon Williams, Perfume Genius and John Parish; and issued haunting performances on Later… with Jools Holland, and for NPR’s Tiny Desk series. She returns fresh from sold out American and UK headline dates, and a run of European summer festival appearances, including Primavera Sound and Roskilde.
