DEFCEE & BOATHOUSE ANNOUNCE IMPORT EDITON OF BREAKOUT ALBUM WITH FEATURES FROM MICK JENKINS, MEYHEM LAUREN, GREENSLLIME, AND MORE

Chicago lyricist Defcee and producer BoatHouse released their breakout LP For All Debts Public and Private earlier this year via Chicago boutique label Closed Sessions, and today they’ve announced the Import Edition of the album for 11/8 – an ode to music collectors and the days of chasing down various Japanese and European import LP’s that contained remixes and b-sides. For All Debts Public and Private (Import Edition) will feature remixes and new songs featuring Mick Jenkins, Meyhem Lauren, Metasota greenSLLIME, Breeze Brewi and AJ Suede. Today you can hear “Dunk Contest” remix ft. Queens emcee and F*ck That’s Delicious co-star– Meyhem Lauren, and underground stalwart Metasota, as well as a new “ode to And1” verse from Defcee.

The album saw a slew of coverage and acclaim upon its release in April of this year. Pitchfork, Fader, Spin, Stereogum, Bandcamp, and more all praised the work of the Chicago MC and the album’s producer, BoatHouse, with Complex noting, “Defcee is no regular rapper. He’s one of the most technically adept MCs in the game”. A fixture in Chicago’s hip-hop and poetry scene Defcee (Adam Levin), came up through Young Chicago Authors, where he eventually ran rap and poetry workshops. He’s since become a teacher on the city’s East Side. He’s put out a steady flow of music over the past ten years, breaking further into the underground rap scene with his previous release, Trapdoor, released in 2021 via Billy Woods Backwoodz Studioz.
