GLÜME RELEASES NEW SINGLE AND VIDEO ‘FLICKER FLICKER’

Electro-pop évocateur Glümereleases her brand new single ‘Flicker Flicker’, released via independent record label Italians Do It Better. The track has been produced by Johnny Jewel (Chromatics, Desire, Glass Candy), and is accompanied by a music video which has been directed by Manny Liotta.
‘Flicker Flicker’ is the third single taken from her upcoming sophomore album, Main Character, which is set to be released on 17th February.
On ‘Flicker Flicker’, Glüme embarks upon an alt-pop escapade that demonstrates her proficiency as a songwriter who attains the ability to enlist a multitude of styles and themes to create a sound that is unmistakably hers. Using electro-pop as the compass, the L.A-based artist subsequently blends synth-pop together with indie-pop and hip-hop to create one of her most stimulating singles to date.
Speaking about ‘Flicker Flicker’, Glüme said: “Flicker Flicker is about dating that dj/photographer you knew was a bad idea.”
Speaking about the ‘Flicker Flicker’ music video, Glümesaid: “We filmed the video at Club Rhonda in LA with my shadow self dressed in Zana Bayne and Evette Niche. It was fun to run through an active party with a different sound playing in my ears and just be in my own world. I was taken to a techno show there at Catch 21 by my ex, which the song is about. It has now been cleansed with a new experience.
On 17th February, Glüme will release her second studio album, Main Character. The album has been produced by Johnny Jewel and Sean Ono Lennon, and contains features from Rufus Wainwright, STRFKR and Of Montreal (Kevin Barnes). The reprise of ‘Flicker Flicker’ features Amelie Zazik.
Throughout the album, Glüme epitomizes refined artistic excellence. With a sound that oscillates between dance-focused aesthetics and sumptuous ballads, listeners are offered a diverse and textured catalogue in which to delve into. Glüme’s music is an extension of herself as she approaches all of her art with a clear vision of who she is and what she represents.
In addition to the release of ‘Flicker Flicker’, today, Glüme reveals the cover art for Main Character. The artwork was shot by Andrea Riba who also photographed the artwork for Glüme’s 2021 debut album, The Internet.
