“BAD GUY” marks one of honestav’s most explosive and fully realized records to date, blending rock, alternative, rap, and nu-metal influences into a raw sonic experience that channels early 2000s rock nostalgia through a modern, experimental lens. Driven by distorted guitars and explosive vocal delivery, the track captures the internal conflict of identity, leaning into the idea of being perceived as the villain while navigating chaos, self-destruction, and self-awareness.
“‘BAD GUY’ has been a favorite song of mine to perform, and I’m hyped to finally share it with the world,” shares honestav. “Musically, it’s influenced by that raw, nu-metal era I grew up on, like Rage Against The Machine and Limp Bizkit. It’s a record that explores the duality of perception, whether we choose to be the ‘bad guy’ or if we’re just pushed into that corner.”
A staple in Av’s live sets for over a year, “BAD GUY” has been a standout moment across his headline tour and his recent Australia/New Zealand shows supporting Machine Gun Kelly’s Lost Americana Tour. The fan-favorite track arrives alongside a cinematic music video shot in New Zealand by up-and-coming Kiwi director Connor Pritchard. A visual translation of the tension Av conjures in his songwriting, the music video moves between intimate and chaotic environments—derelict interiors, surreal open landscapes, and explosive performance sequences—building toward moments of destruction and fire.
“BAD GUY” marks Av’s fourth single ahead of his upcoming project, following “FKN Hate You,” with JaYy Wick, “Believe,” and “Wasted.” The high-intensity track underscores Av’s range as an artist, blending influences and styles in a way that feels entirely his own.
