Introducing AUGUST ROYALS; “Blue Football” Single & Video Out Now
Today, August Royals introduces himself to the world with his debut single, “Blue Football.” The track opens with a groaning guitar that dips into a glitchy staccato synth stomp and instantly draws you in as August’s voice flutters from soft cadences to an ethereal croon as he sings, “Dancing under streetlights, torn up trying to ease my mind, my body’s breaking down from the substance I rely.” Listen to “Blue Football” here.
In tandem with today’s single release, August has shared the official video for “Blue Football,” which features euphoric vignettes of August at home alone battling his own demons. The video was directed by Andrew Sandler (Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Mary J. Blige).
The Georgia-born and Los Angeles-based singer and songwriter first caught listeners’ attention in 2019 when he posted a clip of his song “Restless” and went viral on Instagram with hundreds of thousands of views. After a chance meeting with Kevin Abstract at a show in Los Angeles, the two became fast friends and collaborators. Championed by Abstract, August recently signed with RCA Records. “Blue Football” gives fans and listeners a first glimpse into what is to come from August as he readies to release more new music this year.
