The 19 Year Old Brooklyn Artist Brings Back His Raw Energy To New York City
19-year-old, Brooklyn-native rapper and artist, J.I. releases “No Hook,” a new freestyle music video, which re-introduces his fans to his raw New York City tone and melodic style. J.I started his career freestyling with his brothers at the age of 11 and since then has found major success and developed into a popular young rapper, and one of the biggest breakthrough artists to come out of the Big Apple.
“This freestyle was intended to be literally straight bars with no hook, so it’s why I named it “No Hook,” shares J.I. “I had to take it back a bit to where it all started for me, which was freestyling, and to give my fans the energy of what’s to come with more new music.”
On the freestyle J.I. showcases through his bars the transition as an artist and different points in his life. New York City was the back drop to the video, where it visually reminds viewers that New York is the city that has made him.
