LOU RIDLEY NEW SINGLE “MARK” OUT NOW; NEW EP HELLHOUND OUT OCT 13
Rising ‘anti-country’ country singer Lou Ridley returns today with her blazing new single “Mark.” The single navigates a woman’s revenge story after her relationship has gone awry. The songstress showcases her staggering vocals as she unleashes feminine rage over bewitching strings. “Mark” follows the recent success of “Bible Belt”, the first from her forthcoming EP, Hellhound, out October 13th. The project features additional production from Maniac Sounds, Andrew Baylis, and stunning orchestral production from Matt Combs.
Born in Houston, Texas, Lou Ridley has had a passionate affinity for music since early childhood and attributes her creative inspiration to her strong Texas roots and upbringing. Her sound is refreshingly unique and draws from personal experiences of tragedy and triumph. Her first single of 2021, titled “Hometown,” was written about the trauma she experienced while growing up in the small town of Southlake, Texas, and solidified her stance as an “Anti-Country” country artist. The phrase is rooted in Ridley’s desire to help country music become more inclusive by pushing the boundaries of the genre’s traditional romanticized storytelling. Shortly after, she released her EP Angel / Outlaw, which received nods from Academy/Grammys, People Magazine, E! News,Wide Open Country, Sounds Like Nashville, Houston Chronicle, and many more.
