LOWES DROP ANTHEMIC NEW TRACK ‘GAME OF LOVE’ MUSIC VIDEO BY AWARD-WINNING DIRECTOR TAISIA DEEVA, OUT NOW

Electronic pop trio LOWES have released new track ‘Game of Love’, unveiled with a cinematic music video directed by the award-winning Taisia Deeva. The latest offering from the Lancashire trio is a hook-driven dance pop anthem, shimmering with 80s-inspired sonics and euphoric charge, with all-powerful vocals from BBC Radio 1’s Best Dance Vocalist(2021), Evie.

Of the track, LOWES said: “Originally the lyrics of this song came from the idea that we have an increasingly ‘throwaway’ attitude to our relationships… an unwillingness to fix what is broken and persevere to make things work. Using the analogy of paper plates, broken China, and being ‘all out of detergent / all out of answers’. But then as the song developed it became clear that there was a second story going on. The track became a kind of self-mantra about being brave enough to get what you want, sticking up for yourself in relationships, and listening to your true desires.”

The accompanying music video explores such themes of living your truth and the freedom that follows. The vivid visual brings to life the ‘broken plates’ metaphor, and sees band member Evie sneak into a fairground with child-like intrigue.

“The music video encapsulates this feeling of new found freedom when we break out of situations that are keeping us from being our truest selves and living our fullest lives. It’s so important that we realise when we are just going along with the status quo of a relationship just because that’s what has become the norm, and either act to fix it, or move on” – LOWES.

Made with Taisia Deeva and WANDA productions, the music video for ‘Game of Love’ is an artistic piece of short film which triumphantly visualises the lyrical concepts of the song. Russian director Taisia Deeva is known within both the music and film spheres for her high-end, highly technical and vividly insightful films, ambitious in exploring the human experience. She has global film festival acclaim and has won numerous awards in a variety of directorial spaces.

‘Game of Love’ follows the release of last years’ Late Nights Visions EP and November’s ‘Lucid Love’ with DJ Cristoph. The latter was a BBC Radio 1 Hottest Record with Clara Amfo, the band’s seventh Hottest Record to date adding to a whole host of previous support at radio from Jack Saunders, BBC Introducing, Arielle Free, Danny Howard and Capital Dance. The continuous support from BBC Radio 1 in particular saw LOWES singer Evie named the Best Dance Vocalist at 2021’s Radio 1 Dance Awards. The past couple of years have been characterised by a string of high profile collaborative singles with the likes of CamelPhat, High Contrast, Franky Wah, KC Lights, Sigma, Alan Fitzpatrick, The Prototypes, Vintage Culture and Solardo, culminating in over 65 million streams to date.

LOWES’ music is euphoric and emotional, imbued with an authenticity that makes it both powerful and vulnerable. ‘Game of Love’ is another clear indication that the band will continue to excite, engage and blossom into serious long term contenders.
