Singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Mills returns with his latest single “On The Weekend,” out today via Keep Cool/RCA Records.

Previewing the song to fans earlier this week in Los Angeles at an exclusive listening event, “On The Weekend” is a soulful track that pulls from Mills’ signature ‘70s influence. Tinged with nostalgia, the song finds Mills reminiscing on the places he used to go with an old flame, opening on a lone Rhodes piano solo before bursting into a warm, steady drumbeat mixed with strings, percussion, and Mills’ melodic vocals. Paired with the release of “On The Weekend” is its music video, which follows Mills as he dances through his home.

“‘On The Weekend’ is a song I wrote about the feeling of not being able to turn your attention to anything but the exact thing you don’t want to think about,” says Mills of the release. “It’s open ended: whether it’s seeing an ex at a bar or seeing your crush talking to someone that’s not you; a feeling that we all know.
