MINNEAPOLIS RAP PHENOMENON PROF GETS “SOUPY” WITH DREAMVILLE’S COZZ FOR NEWEST MUSIC VIDEO
ANNOUNCES THE WORKHORSE TOUR ACROSS NORTH AMERICA
Acclaimed Minneapolis, MN rap maverick Prof uncovers the music video for his buzzing new single “Soupy,” featuring Cozz, from J. Cole’s Dreamville Records. Meanwhile, the track adorns his anxiously awaited sixth full-length album, HORSE, out April 14, 2023 via his own Stophouse Music Group.
In the black-and-white clip, Prof hops into his convertible accompanied by Cozz. The camera focuses on the two MCs during a slow and steady drive as they serve up quotable lines and quirky quips, “I’m turning to a logo.” Two ladies eventually hop in, only to later don ski masks and shotguns, and take down a score as the fellas wait. The stylized visual perfectly complements the track’s slick and smooth lyrical interplay.
Right out of the gate, it landed on influential Spotify playlists such as Alternative Hip Hop[923k followers] and Beats & Rhymes [414k followers].
Additionally, he reveals the dates for his North America headline run, The Workhorse Tour. Joining him on the road, the bill boasts Willie Wonka, Juice Lord,and Bayo. It kicks off on April 12 in Grand Rapids, MI at Elevation Grand Rapids, visits major markets coast-to-coast with two-nightstands at Aggie Theater in Fort Collins, CO [5/31-6/1] and Cervantes in Denver, CO [6/2-6/3], before closing out at The Rave II in Milwaukee, WI on June 17.
