Originally from southside Atlanta, Semaja Zair Render, known for his stage name Lil Gotit, has gathered more than a million monthly listeners on Spotify. The 21-year-old American rapper and songwriter was signed to the Alamo Records label and released his official debut album, Hood Baby, in November 2018. At his beginnings, the freestyler was mentored by the well-known rapper Young Thug and released several singles with his older brother Lil Keed, such as “Trap Bunkin”. Apart from his sibling, to date, the wild artist had worked with many known artists: Future, Gunna, Lil Yachty, Tee Grizzley, Lil Keed, and more.

In a recent interview, Gotit spoke with IMPRINT about several topics, such as: what was like growing up in south Atlanta, what introduced him to music, who influenced him while coming up in Atlanta, he also disclosed how he got his artistic name, his experience as part of Alamo Records label and he also named Gunna as his musical inspiration while growing up, amongst others.

Regarding one of his latest releases “Burnt N Turnt” featuring the Canadian rapper, Nav, the ATL rapper talked about the creative process behind the music video and he also told Imprint what was like working with Gunna as director of “Toosie” single’s music video.

The thundering hip-hopper encouraged every musican out there who is chasing their dreams to keep on going and do not waver, in his own words: “You gotta get your shit going (…) you gotta rap everyday(…)”.

For now, Gotit is planning to appear in Portugal next July and no doubt he will keep exhilarating the rap world for what’s to come.

The Atlanta Native Squads Up with Lil Keed and Yak Gotti for “Get N Dere Gang” Video, With a Cameo from Young Thug

Lil Gotit is an expert at finding unconventional pockets with his flow, his voice morphing into twisted shapes as he spits his luxury life bars. Firing up three burners for his latest opus, the Atlanta native serves up Top Chef Gotit, his latest project. On the new project, Gotit’s flex-heavy witticisms and easy melodies cohere into a compelling aesthetic, one that relies on Gotit’s ability to create unconventional flows.

The follow-up to last year’s Hood Baby 2, Top Chef Gotit is home to recent singles like the sizzling hot “Wok,” the 69 Boyz-sampling banger “Toosie,” the simmering  “Burnt N Turnt” ft. NAV, and “Work Out,” which features an appearance from Gunna, the project’s executive producer. Top Chef Gotit marks Gotit’s ascension into Atlanta’s trap elite, earning the official co-sign from his slimes like Young Thug. Featuring multiple appearances from his brother Lil Keed, an additional verse from NAV, and additional guest spots from Yak Gotti, Millie Go Lightly, and Lil Pj, Top Chef Gotit is available everywhere via Alamo Records.

Along with the tape, Gotit shares the video for “Get N Dere Gang,” a Top Chef Gotit highlight. A trap thumper with guest appearances from Lil Keed and Yak Gotti, “Get N Dere Gang” thrives off the chemistry of the Atlanta natives, each rapper flexing their melodic mastery over a thumping beat. In the video, the three rappers do their dance in the Georgia countryside as they mob with YSL bigwigs Young Thug and Gunna.

With over 230 million streams in the bank, Gotit has proven his worth as a vital new voice in Atlanta and beyond.
