Remy Ma And A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie Are In Good “Company” with their new record

Remy Ma continues to work on her forthcoming album 7 Winters & 6 Summers. As fans await the forthcoming effort, today (April 26), Remy joined forces with her fellow Boogie Down Bronx-bred A Boogie wit da Hoodie for a new record titled, “Company.”

Over snares and kicks, the mother and wife claims her independence as well as her knack for securing the money bag.

“Baby, what you want from me?/I been gettin’ money, I could really put you on your feet/I was gettin’ one visit, two phone calls, three showers a week/Now I get like 90K for my voice just to touch the beat, but yo

I will never ask you what you got for me/I just want some sloppy, every couple days I want the D/I don’t need no E, I got some M’s and now I got a G/Can’t explain the nueva, boy, it’s somethin’ you gotta see, but yeah,” raps Remy.

As expected, Boogie strong-arms the song’s melodious hook.

Aside from Remy Ma’ rap career, she is also a Love & Hip-Hop reality-television star. Over the holidays, the 37-year-old spoke with VIBE about her and her husband’s Papoose hour-long VH1 Special ‘Remy & Papoose: A Merry Mackie Holiday.’

“It is a little different because when we are filming with “Love and Hip Hop,” it is [based on] specific aspects of our lives. We are a little more cautious with [filming]. As opposed to when it is your situation. We both have co-executive [producer] credits on “Remy & Papoose: A Merry Mackie Holiday.” You get to see a different dynamic between us, and our interaction with our family.”

She also spoke about balancing a blended family.

“It is difficult because everybody has their boundaries. It [will be] different when we have our own child together. We try our best to be [great] parents to all of our children… [and treat them] the same way. But, we still have to have that little inkling in the back of our minds, to be thoughtful. There are other parents that we have to respect. And, then the kids! I don’t want them to feel like they can try and take advantage or play us… because they will if you allow them to.”

Fears for Kanye’s health emerge after Scooter Braun’s firing

Written By | Mara Siegler, Oli Coleman and Carlos Greer

Kanye West canceled 21 tour dates in 2016 after suffering a “nervous breakdown,” but there are new fears for his health after he abruptly fired manager Scooter Braun and a “friend” claimed West had been addicted to opioids.

On Monday, Hot 97 host Ebro Darden told listeners that he had spoken with West this weekend, and West allegedly told him, “Nobody really showed love for me when I was addicted to opioids and in the hospital.”

If West had actually canceled the tour due to drug use, it could have legal ramifications.

The rapper filed a 2017 $10 million lawsuit against insurers Lloyd’s of London, claiming they were refusing to pay for his lost dates and citing his marijuana use as an excuse.

The insurer finally caved in and agreed to pay most of what was due to cover the lost tour dates.

Lawyers for Lloyd’s didn’t return calls for comment Tuesday.

Meanwhile, a source close to West tells Page Six they were “doubtful” he was hospitalized for opioid use and “disappointed” Darden made those claims on-air.

West sources had said at the time of the 2016 breakdown that it was due to the death of his mom, the stress of juggling his fashion line and the tour, and acute sleeplessness and paranoia.

West dramatically just fired Braun and others in his inner circle — despite having just announced five new albums on Twitter — with sources spreading rumors online that those cast out were “very worried for Yeezy’s mental health” and that he could be suffering from “another episode.”

West hired Braun, who also reps Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande, a couple of years ago.

He took a larger role in March after West’s longtime manager Izvor “Izzy” Zivkovic stepped down.

While Braun and a rep for West didn’t comment, the first source explained, “Kanye has been saying he wants to bring all representation in-house, and that extends to his managers. His mentality is, ‘I can’t be someone’s client. I have to represent myself.’ He’s clearing house. Scooter remains in an advisory role.”

Since returning to Twitter, West has been raising eyebrows with a series of peculiar tweets.

On Tuesday he wrote, “to be great is to be misunderstood” as well as “dragon 🐉energy/Natural born leaders/Very instinctive/Great foresight.”

He also drew some ire by praising a noted right-wing commentator, saying, “I love the way Candace Owens thinks.”

Pink’s Badass Guide to Conquering Life, Love & Everything in Between

Written By | Diana Pearl

TAKE TIME WHEN YOU NEED IT

When Pink fell ill just before her Montreal concert, she knew she needed to do what was best for her: Postpone the event. “Our entire family has been battling this awful virus/flu for two weeks now, and I have battled my way through these shows because postponing sucks,” she wrote on Twitter, apologizing to her fans. “I’m really sorry and know that I have done everything I could to avoid this.” Luckily, her fans understood: Sometimes, self care is necessary.

BUT SOMETIMES YOU NEED TO PUSH THROUGH

To that same point, just as important as knowing when to bow out is knowing when to keep going. When Pink fell ill before the 2018 Super Bowl, she still managed to perform — and received a standing ovation. “I am beyond proud of this woman,” husband Carey Hart wrote on Instagram following her performance. “The roller coaster that she went through this last week with getting sick and losing her voice would have broke any ordinary person.”

USE YOUR CONNECTIONS

When you’re a celeb, there’s no shame in using your star power to treat those you love the most. And for Pink, that came in the form of arranging a meeting between her daughter, Willow, and Willow’s favorite singer, Rihanna. “Willz has been a fan of @badgalriri for a long time, and mama got an intro for her,” Pink wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of the trio at the Grammys. “Major mom points tonight.”

DON’T BE TOO HARD ON YOURSELF

Pink is always ready to dole out some realness, and that’s something people love about her. One mom came up to tell her that in the grocery store — and the two even shed a tear together. “A really sweet Mama came up 2me tonight at the grocery store and told me some nice words about how she gets strength from my parenting cause I’m not afraid to f— up in public,” Pink wrote on Twitter. “We cried together. It’s so hard.” She used the moment to remind that woman, as well as the rest of her fans, that sometimes, you need to cut yourself some slack. She added: “I wish us mamas could give ourselves and each other a break.”

ONLY DATE THE PEOPLE WHO TREAT YOU RIGHT

Willow may only be 6 years old, but she’s already asking questions about boys and dating — and Pink is sure to steer her on a path of self-respect when it comes to relationships. “They have to kind, respectful. They have to be chivalrous, they have to be good to their moms,” Pink told Cosmopolitan of what advice she gave to her daughter. “They have to be good looking, they have to be funny.”

EMBRACE THE WEIRD

Pink has never been one to blend in with the crowd, and she encourages Willow to do the same. “[A] very important thing I tell my daughter is it’s very fun to be weird and it’s very boring to be normal,” Pink told Cosmopolitan. “I have a rule with Willow that we don’t say mean things and we don’t say things we don’t mean.”

SPEAK THE TRUTH — AND CLEAR UP LIES

Good luck to those trying to stir up drama in Pink’s life — especially where there is none. Twitter speculated that there was a feud between her and Christina Aguilera after viewers thought they saw Pink cringing during Aguilera’s Whitney Houston tribute performance. But it didn’t take Pink long to clap back at these rumor-spreaders, tweeting: “Waking up to see a newly created riff between myself and another incredible woman, Christina, who took on an incredible feat, who I support fully, makes me so sad. You all perpetuate keeping women apart b/c you’re afraid of the power we have when we get together.”

BE HONEST

Pink doesn’t lie — even when the truth is a little messy. She got candid about her relationship with husband Carey Hart in an interview with The Guardian, confessing that there are times when she doesn’t like him at all. “There are moments where I look at [Hart] and he is the most thoughtful, logical, constant … he’s like a rock. He’s a good man. He’s a good dad. He’s just the kind of dad I thought he’d be and then some,” she said. “And then I’ll look at him and go: ‘I’ve never liked you. There’s nothing I like about you. We have nothing in common. I don’t like any of the s— you like. I don’t ever wanna see you again.”

Tu Tu is not your conventional affair; Get ready for a highly stylized classical work with a playful twist

Join Atlanta Ballet in April for a spectacular program highlighting the broad spectrum of dance today, including a Company premiere, a world premiere, and an Atlanta Ballet signature work!

Created by Stanton Welch, Artistic Director of Houston Ballet, Tu Tu is not your conventional affair. Moving from buoyant to beguiling, impassioned partnering, Tu Tu is a visually arresting program set off with boldly colored costumes and dramatic lighting. Get ready for a highly stylized classical work with a playful twist. A Company premiere.

After twenty-one seasons as a Company dancer and four main stage commissions, Tara Lee returns with blink, a new and vibrant neoclassical style ballet set to one of Johannes Brahms’ most challenging piano scores. Like capturing lightning in a bottle, the dancers’ energy surges past the confines of the stage and takes you on a voyage through the cosmos. Reflecting the stars of the constellations, they expand and move in and out of configuration, exploring the fleeting, yet sacred, moments that make up a mere blink in the vast history of the universe. A world premiere featuring live piano accompaniment.

Minus 16, one of choreographer Ohad Naharin’s most celebrated works, offers a thrilling exploration of the human experience set to music ranging from Israeli folk songs to Dean Martin standards. Powerful, visceral, and crowd-pleasing, you won’t want to miss this one-of-a-kind work. ArtsATL described it as “irreverent, mischievous, cruel, ironic, irrational, soul-searching and a little kooky.” Experience it for yourself! An Atlanta Ballet signature work.

WASHINGTON–Nat Geo WILD announced today that multiplatinum-selling rockers X Ambassadors are teaming up with Emmy- and BAFTA-nominated Bleeding Fingers Music on the original composition created for the network’s Earth Day special Symphony for Our World.

“bombastic rock that’s as stomping as it is diaristic, leavened by big-tent pop hooks and a hint of hip-hop swagger”

Driven by a five-part composition – broken down by sea, shore, land, mountains, sky – Symphony for Our World is a one-hour celebration of planet Earth that pairs artistry with science. It combines stunning National Geographic natural history footage with an original symphony and theme composed by Bleeding Fingers Music featuring composers Austin Fray and Andrew Christie, and a special musical collaboration with X Ambassadors, resulting in a powerful tribute to the beauty and wonders of our wild world.

Symphony for Our World premieres commercial-free on Sunday, April 22, at 7/6c on Nat Geo WILD and will premiere globally in 140 countries.

Bleeding Fingers Music will layer in the unique musical elements of X Ambassadors, known for their hits like “Renegades,” “Unsteady” and their newly released singles “Don’t Stay” and “Ahead of Myself,” into the original composition to create an unprecedented musical experience that will bring viewers on a breathtaking musical journey through some of the world’s most incredible wildlife spectacles. The composition for Symphony for Our World will now include vocal riffs and piano and drum elements recorded by X Ambassadors members Sam Harris, Casey Harris and Adam Levin to create a powerful, unique orchestra-meets-rock-band sound that elevates this celebration of our planet.

“It’s such a thrill to work with the world-renowned X Ambassadors. My team and I at Bleeding Fingers are honored to once again bring together contemporary musicians with orchestral backing. Unquestionably the band’s input elevated the theme and brought an ingredient to the score that unleashed an expected new energy,” said Russell Emanuel, chief creative and CEO of Bleeding Fingers Music.

Separate from the broadcast event, National Geographic will feature the original music created for the Symphony for Our World special in a live, global orchestral tour kicking off on Earth Day in San Francisco’s Louise M. Davies Symphony Hall. For performance dates and ticket information, visit natgeo-symphony.com.

David Byrne Achieves First Top 10 Album on Billboard 200 Chart With ‘American Utopia’

Written By | Keith Caulfield

David Byrne earns his highest charting album ever on the Billboard 200 chart as American Utopia enters at No. 3 with 63,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending March 15, according to Nielsen Music.

The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). The new March 24-dated chart (where Byrne debuts at No. 3 and Logic’s Bobby Tarantino II starts at No. 1) will be posted in full on Billboard‘s websites on Tuesday, March 20.

Byrne’s debut — his 12th charting solo set — is driven by traditional album sales, as effectively all of its units were in pure sales, resulting in Byrne’s biggest sales week since Nielsen Music began tracking sales in 1991. American Utopia’s arrival was enhanced by sales generated from a concert ticket/album sale redemption offer with the artist’s tour, which started earlier in March.

American Utopia is Byrne’s first solo effort since 2004’s Grown Backwards, which debuted and peaked at No. 178. Since then, he’s released a trio of collaborative efforts: Everything That Happens Will Happen Today, with Brian Eno (No. 174 in 2009), Here Lies Love, with Fatboy Slim (No. 96, 2010) and Love This Giant, with St. Vincent (No. 23, 2012). The latter was Byrne’s highest charting album, and only top 40 set, until the arrival of American Utopia.

Byrne made his solo debut on the list in 1981 with The Catherine Wheel, which topped out at No. 104 in 1982.

The band Talking Heads, of which Byrne was a member, charted a dozen albums on the Billboard 200 between 1977 and 2009. Eight of them reached the top 40, with the act’s highest-charting effort being 1983’s Speaking in Tongues. The album reached No. 15, powered by its hit single “Burning Down the House.” The track was the band’s only top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100, climbing to No. 9.

Byrne’s new album was led by the single “Everybody’s Coming to My House,” which has reached No. 5 on the most recently published Adult Alternative Songs airplay chart (dated March 17).

DJ Khaled & Demi Lovato Drop Magical ‘I Believe’ Music Video From ‘A Wrinkle in Time’ Soundtrack

Written By | Wandera Hussein

The video for Demi Lovato and DJ Khaled’s collab “I Believe” from the A Wrinkle in Time soundtrack is here. After teasing the clip on Good Morning America on Wednesday (Mar. 7), the full music video officially dropped today, and it’s quite the magical experience.

The visual takes themes from A Wrinkle in Time, and sees Lovato prancing around a seemingly endless field of green grass, with a lush blue sky as the backdrop. The pop sensation stands defiant, dressed in a lavish red gown, with large gold jewelry draped across her chest. Lovato stretches her elastic vocals and croons about believing in oneself and overcoming struggle. “Today I saw a rainbow in the rain/ It told me I can do anything/ if I believe, I believe, I believe in me,” she sings.

Demi Lovato arrives at Jingle Ball at The Forum on Friday, Dec. 1, 2017, in Inglewood, Calif.

Scenes from the film blend in with the upbeat record, as DJ Khaled appears periodically, marking the tune with his signature “another one” phrase. He also dishes out inspiring words — “When times got hard, I went harder. The best thing I ever did was believe in me” — while standing alongside the “Sorry Not Sorry” singer in a warm sunset.

Tickets are currently on sale for BØRNS’ 2018 North American headline tour with a handful of dates already sold-out. The 2018 headline tour follows a run of sold-out intimate club dates in select cities this fall where Borns treated his fans to songs from his debut album Dopamine as well as new material from Blue Madonna. For more information on tour dates and to purchase tickets visit https://www.bornsmusic.com/tour.

Garrett Borns was living in a secluded tree house in the Los Angeles canyons when he wrote his debut album Dopamine. The album was released in the fall of 2015 to rave reviews with the Associated Press calling it “some of the most heartfelt electronic-based music in recent memory,” while Spin noted that BØRNS “writes brilliant pop songs that worm their way into your heart in an instant.” The LP featured the platinum selling single “Electric Love” and showcased his yearning falsetto. Since the release of Dopamine, BØRNS has performed at numerous festivals including Coachella, Lollapalooza, Hangout, Sasquatch and Bonnaroo and completely sold out his headline theater tour in the spring of 2016.
