Umphrey’s McGee in Denver at Red Rocks Amphitheatre
Written By | Al Robinson
There’s a vibe happening. I can’t describe what it is I can only describe how it makes me feel. Maybe it’s the beauty of the amphitheater itself, or maybe it’s the fact that one year ago none of us knew when we’d be standing all together listening to some of our favorite musicians. There’s a heightened level of gratitude to be standing in front of each other, band and audience, when for months it felt like it might never happen again.

Umphrey’s McGee never disappoints, their stunning light shows and hilarious banter between songs kept us entertained throughout the entire show. Personally, my favorite part of an Umphrey’s show is the seamless transitions between beautifully melancholy piano medleys and absolute rocking madness.
My other favorite part is the clear bond between band mates. It is palpable when you’re watching every member exchange nods and smiles as they’re moving through a live jam. It’s magic.
Music is back. Umphrey’s is back.
