Right out of the gate, Happy Trap piled up over 50 million streams and counting. He has also continued to garner critical acclaim. Bleu Magazine declared, “the Atlanta native brings a different perspective to trap music,” and Hits Daily Double christened him “an energizing force in hip-hop.”

Unghetto Mathieu shines a lot of light on the culture with his signature “Happy Trap” style. The Atlanta rapper energizes hip-hop with an upbeat spirit, unbreakable flow, and undeniable talent, adding another dimension to rap in the process. After building a massive audience of 1.9 million YouTube subscribers and posting up a staggering 187 million views on a combination of music videos and dance routines, he emerges with a scorching sound of his own.

In 2015, he started to develop a following on social media during high school posting highly-trafficked dance videos and fueling the success of many viral hip-hop dance records. Unghetto Mathieu launched his channel introducing himself as an artist with a remix of A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie’s “My Shit,” generating 319K Soundcloud plays. He served up his first original “Gang Up” followed by “23” [feat. Lil Yachty], which cracked 1.2 million Spotify streams. On the heels of the 2019 anthem “Let U Go” (1.6 million Spotify streams), he inked a deal with Epic Records. Now, he made major waves with “Plastic,” paving the way to spread Happy Trap worldwide.
