WHOKILLEDXIX pull back the curtain on In Chains, their relentless, electrifying new EP, via Masked Records/Warner Records. Across nine breakneck songs, Yung Skayda and Karm the Tool show why they’ve become one of the most magnetic duos in music while not bending an inch toward trends or mainstream consensus.
The most bold records open by throwing down a gauntlet, and In Chains is no exception. It begins with previously released single “9mm” and continues to up the ante with “L1FESP4N,” a collaboration with Savage Ga$p that is so serrated it sounds as if it might cut clean through the speakers. Stay tuned for the animated video, which arrives next Friday.
About the EP WHOKILLEDXIX share, The lore is really a way for us to merge our music together with a visual experience. The EP is really a soundtrack for the comic book, and the comic book is also a reflection of the music. The inspiration for the two mediums goes both ways. This way we can really take the idea of world-building to another level. The story itself is chaotic and really in your face. There’s good guys and bad guys and also a bunch of characters in the middle. There’ll be a lot open for interpretation for now, but this project is really just the beginning of this story.”
In Chains features the previously released singles “GO!” and “TOY!,” a one-two punch that highlights the duo’s versatility, moving seamlessly between an infectious groove and frenetic controlled chaos. The BENKRO-featuring “GO!” came complete with a visualizer video.
WHOKILLEDXIX will be performing the EP live for the first time on the day of release at TwitchCon, where the next-level mayhem that has come to characterize their live shows will be on full display. A comic book, also called In Chains, will be released alongside the EP, and will serve as a visual representation of the record. With this latest effort, WHO KILLEDXIX are sure to not only add to their achievement of 277 million total global streams, but to the momentum that has positioned them as one the most cutting edge phenomenons to arrive in recent memory.
