On his comeback, “Faking Sleep,” Yoshi bares it all. He addresses how he’s navigating his mental health at the current climate of the world “It’s about reconciling this past year and trying to fall asleep every night with this gas leak of global context seeping into our everyday lives,” he explains. “You just have to go on with things and be optimistic where you can while being a good person.” In the video directed by Josh Flores, the visual narrative unfolds, we see the hybrid artist in an ethereal dream-like state whilst singing over layered instrumentals and trap-like beats. Yoshi showcases both his soothing vocals and intricate lyrics that create a moment around life’s harsh realities. Yoshi also shares a cover of The Cure’s 1980’s single, “Boys Don’t Cry.” Listen HERE.
