Following the recent news that he’ll be opening for YoungBoy Never Broke Again on his upcoming nationwide Masa Tour, West Coast mainstay EBK Jaaybo has just released his new album Don’t Trust Me — out now along with an accompanying music video for “Stand Over Music”. Rooted in energetic West Coast bounce, the 21-track album finds EBK Jaaybo spinning gritty tales of Stockton street life into infectious pop hooks that oscillate between fiery, hard-hitting bravado and poignant, deeply personal displays of introspection.
Don’t Trust Me follows the release of his viral link-up with Chicago heavyweight VonOff1700 for “Exposing Me”, which was heavily anticipated amongst fans for months after the pair were spotted filming the music video together in EBK Jaaybo‘s native Stockton earlier this year, as well as a breakthrough 2024 year that saw him unveil The Reaper. Released while he was still behind bars, the album featured hit track “Boogieman” (260M+ Streams), now his biggest song to date. Following his selection to COMPLEX‘s 25 Rappers To Watch In 2025 list, EBK Jaaybo‘s recent viral freestyle for PlaqueBoyMax‘s In The Booth series, as well as recent singles “Homebody” (5M+ Streams), “Long Live My Brother” (5M+ Streams), “F*ck Everybody (Free Maxx)” (8M+ Streams), and the First Day Out anthem “The Biggest G” (19M+ Streams) have all paved the way for the release of Don’t Trust Me, his fifth project in as many years, with Rolling Stone hailing him as an artist “poised to put Stockton, California on the map” in a recent interview.
Born in Stockton, EBK Jaaybo first turned heads with “Dondadda”, released when he was just 14 years old. The rapper steadily garnered momentum in his city and beyond with projects like 2021,Letter 4 The Streets,Sinners Prayer, and The Reaper, providing a revitalizing glimpse into the future of California Hip-Hop. Despite his long battle with California’s legal system, he’s kept up his momentum with a steady string of releases, and in 2024 broke through into the mainstream while still incarcerated with the aforementioned “Boogieman”. After the loss of his friend and mentor, Young Slo-Be, as well as his brother EBK Osama, EBK Jaaybo is focused on investing in himself, learning from his mistakes, accumulating generational wealth for his sons — and becoming the new face of the West Coast in the process.
