Alt-Rock Trio People I’ve Met Drop New Single, “Loving One”
The premiere of “Loving One”, the latest single from rising alt-rock band People I’ve Met. Out via Interscope Records, “Loving One” offers an up-close look at the pain of clinging to a relationship that’s already fallen apart.
The third single from People I’ve Met — a New York City-based trio made up of vocalist/guitarist Moses Martin, drummer Orlando Wiltshire, and bassist Andrew Suster — “Loving One” dwells in the uneasy space between acceptance and longing, where heartbreak hasn’t fully settled but the truth is impossible to ignore. Threaded with poetic confession (“Look at my heart, it’s not quite broken but it’s bent”), the chameleonic track unfolds with equal parts unfettered emotion and lucid self-awareness.
Produced by People I’ve Met and Noah Conrad (Chappell Roan, ROLE MODEL), “Loving One” emerged from a lo-fi demo and took on a new magnitude in the studio, thanks to the band’s free-flowing experimentation. In an echo of its emotional landscape, the song opens with a stripped-back intimacy anchored in aching harmonies and tender acoustic guitar, then builds to an all-consuming catharsis in its final minute. Fueled by explosive drumming and lavishly layered guitar work, the result is a prime showcase for People I’ve Met’s elegantly inventive musicality.
After getting their start making music in Wiltshire’s garage back in high school in Los Angeles, People I’ve Met moved to the East Coast and began shaping their live show in the New York City club scene, including a series of shows at iconic Brooklyn venue Baby’s All Right in fall 2025. With their live experience also including a run of U.S. tour dates supporting Royel Otis, the band made their debut with the hypnotically moody “Promise” (a December release that premiered alongside its official music video and earned praise from NME for its “euphoric chorus”), then returned in January with the introspective but viscerally charged “For Hire.”
