JOEL DE LA P CELEBRATES THE VALUE OF FRIENDSHIP IN “PAY”, FEAT. REY QUINTO
Sinaloan viral phenomenon Joel De La P returns with one of his most powerful tracks yet, teaming up with Rey Quinto for “Pay”, an explosive corrido tumbado dedicated to ride-or-die friends. The track is now available on all digital platforms via Sony Music Latin.
Powerful yet uplifting, “Pay” was written by both artists and produced by De La alongside L Prince. Joel and Rey pay tribute to the friends they consider family, with a deeply moving gesture: they always pray and light a candle, asking for protection over their friends.
Through fresh, straight-shooting verses, the artists share how they stay grounded thanks to the bonds that hold them down through thick and thin. The title references the “Pay” (money) that’s never missing among true friends, symbolizing the mutual support that transcends the material.
The release features an official music video, directed by César Acosta, that captures the urban essence of “Pay” with a minimalist, futuristic aesthetic.
Shot in Los Angeles and set in an underground metro station, the video alternates between train cars, elevators, and empty stations, with Joel De La P and Rey Quinto as the sole protagonists. With dynamic camera movements and double-vision effects, the visual piece strikes a balance between the caffeinated energy of corrido tumbado and a clean atmosphere, reinforcing the message of unwavering loyalty among friends.
The release comes two months after dropping “Cuadrada” with El Rabbanito and following a string of high-profile collaborations this year, including “Modo Kung Fu Panda” with Los Darreyes de La Sierra and “Meneo” with Luis R Conríquez, El Alfa, and Chimbala.
Joel De La P and Rey Quinto, who have both worked with some of the biggest acts in Mexican music like Peso Pluma, Luis R Conríquez, and Tito Double P, cement their place with this release as rising stars of the new generation. Joel boasts over 527,000 Spotify followers and more than 4.1 million monthly streams.
Hailing from Culiacán, Sinaloa, the singer first broke through with the collaboration “Dembow Bélico” alongside Luis R Conríquez and Tito Doble P.
