Multi-platinum Cuban-American singer-songwriter Lauren Jauregui releases her new single, “Ego”. Her first release since her 2024 single, “Burning”, “Ego” offers fans the first taste of Lauren’s most exciting era yet.
An introspective, slow-burning alt-pop ballad, “Ego” serves as both a love letter and a challenge – inviting listeners to shed pride and self-doubt in the pursuit of growth. The hook, “Lay down your ego and say how you want it / You can’t deliver the things that you promised if you’re always guarded,” first teased in a February 2024 tweet, encapsulates Lauren’s ongoing journey toward self-actualization and emotional honesty. Set against a meditative backdrop of mellow electric guitars, her signature rich, husky vocals take center stage, embodying both vulnerability and strength.
Lauren most recently appeared on Season 34 of Dancing With the Stars where she left a strong impression with her expressive performances and vulnerability on the dance floor. Over the summer, Lauren reunited with Fifth Harmony bandmates Ally Brooke, Normani, and Dinah Jane, after a 7-year hiatus to perform “Worth It” and “Work From Home” as the surprise guest during a Jonas Brothers concert in Dallas, Texas.
