Icelandic band Of Monsters and Men unveil their fourth studio album, All Is Love and Pain in the Mouse Parade a record that envelops you in hygge – a gentle, comforting warmth that lingers long after the music ends. Self-produced by the band, with nuanced touches from Josh Kaufman (The National, Bob Weir, Bonny Light Horseman) and longtime collaborator Bjarni Þór Jensson, the album pulses with the effortless chemistry of old friends creating together.
Each day in their Reykjavík studio began simply: a bad pot of coffee, conversation about nothing and everything, and the shared energy of pure musical curiosity; that unguarded spirit carries through every note. In a country known for its small and tight-knit community, friendship and collaboration are inseparable, and that primal connection forms the beating heart of All Is Love and Pain in the Mouse Parade.
The focus track, “Tuna In A Can,” blends humor and heart, capturing the bittersweet moment of watching yourself, or someone you love, hesitate at life’s threshold.

From Reykjavík to the global stage, Of Monsters and Men (OMAM) first captured the world’s attention with their 2011 debut My Head Is an Animal, transforming from Icelandic indie favorites into a band known and loved worldwide. Breakout single “Little Talks” became a generational anthem with over a billion Spotify streams and led to a 2013 Saturday Night Live debut. Their follow-up, Beneath the Skin (2015), debuted Top 3 on the Billboard 200 and included a surprise cameo on HBO’s Game of Thrones. Over the past 15 years, OMAM have continuously explored, evolved, and built a world of music defined by growth and imagination—from the cinematic expansiveness of Beneath the Skin to the dreamlike textures of Fever Dream (2019).
Along the way, OMAM’s cinematic sound has been featured in The Hunger Games, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, and more, while commanding festival sets at Coachella, Glastonbury, and Lollapalooza cemented their reputation as one of the most compelling live acts of their era. Their intimate pandemic-era documentary tíu (2022), which premiered at Tribeca and won Best Short at Dumbo, paired with an EP of unreleased tracks spanning a decade, further showcased the depth and evolution of their craft. After pursuing solo and side projects, the band now reunites with All Is Love and Pain in the Mouse Parade, a new chapter in a career defined by growth, exploration, and a commitment to making music that reflects who they are today.
