SAINT LEVANT RELEASES PALESTINIAN RESISTANCE ANTHEM & VIDEO “DALOONA”

Palestinian-Algerian artist Saint Levant releases “DALOONA”, an ode to his native Palestine, capturing the beauty and complexity of Palestinian identity, music, and culture, via Universal Arabic Music. With an upbeat sound and an accompanying celebratory music video, “DALOONA” is a resistance anthem that shines a light on Palestinian resilience, even in the most challenging times.

The music video, directed by Cannes-nominated Gazan filmmakers Tarzan and Arab, embodies celebration through the lens of a Palestinian wedding, with scenes filmed on VHS. “I want every Palestinian to be reminded of their wedding video,” Tarzan and Arab shared, underscoring the film’s nostalgic connection to Palestinian culture and unity.

Featuring celebrated Palestinian voices Shadi Borini, 47Soul, and Qasem Al Najjar, “DALOONA” offers a window into the joys of Palestinian life. “Palestinian culture is nuanced and has depth,” Saint Levant shares regarding the single. “Right now, we’re suffering immensely. And because of this, to the public and unknowing eyes, the world sees a dark, sad, and partial reality. Just like everybody else in the world, we have moments of joy. People are still getting married. People like SOL Band in GAZA are keeping this joy alive. I just want to show that we Palestinians can have joy, that this community exists, and that there is PRIDE in this identity.”

Saint Levant’s DEIRA Tour, supporting his debut album DEIRA, continues to bring his cross-cultural artistry to life, resonating with audiences through his unique fusion of Arabic, French, and English lyrics. His European leg includes stops in Milan, Brussels, and will conclude on November 28 at the O2 Forum Kentish Town in London. He will return to North America on December 8 for his Montreal show at MTELUS, followed by performances in Boston, Chicago, and a sold-out New York City show at Terminal 5 on December 12.
