THE BLACK KEYS RELEASE NEW ALBUM ‘NO RAIN, NO FLOWERS’

No Rain, No Flowers, the thirteenth studio album from GRAMMY-winning rock duo The Black Keys, is out now via Easy Eye Sound/Warner Records. Listen or purchase here. Produced by the band and recorded at Dan Auerbach’s own Easy Eye Sound Studios in Nashville, the album features a powerhouse lineup of collaborators including GRAMMY-winning songwriters Rick Nowels, Daniel Tashian and Desmond Child, as well as legendary keyboardist and producer Scott Storch (Dr. Dre, The Roots).

With No Rain, No Flowers, Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney show that, more than two decades in, they are still pushing the envelope forward – melding genres, trusting their creative instinct and having fun while doing it. The album’s lead single,“The Night Before,” has already claimed the top spot on the Alternative chart and earned the band their ninth No. 1 on the Adult Alternative Airplay chart—further solidifying their place among rock’s modern greats.

“The last year really led us to do what we usually do in the face of adversity… we went to the studio and we started to make music and just create.” Dan shares, “ I feel really excited about the music we’ve been making. This whole album was really labored over with a lot of love. Every year the bond that we have as a band gets tighter. With every year that passes we realize how special that is.”

Pat adds, “We’ve been doing this for over 20 years. We have a greater appreciation now for what we have together than ever before. We’ve been through a lot and we can get through a lot. The only thing we had left to do was to go make more music and try to make the best out of it. We came into this record with a really strong work ethic. We got together a list of people we wanted to work with and just started making calls – being in the studio with Scott and Rick was the first time we were writing with keyboard players. We’ve gotten to collaborate with some people we really admire, and this one really opened our eyes to a new process.”

Earlier this week, the band brought an explosive performance of their riff heavy “Man On A Mission” to The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Tomorrow (August 9), the band will appear on CBS Saturday Morning Sessions.

The release of No Rain, No Flowers lands just in time for the next leg of The Black Keys’ North American tour, kicking off August 9 in Atlantic City. Following a successful run through Europe and over 80,000 tickets sold on the first U.S. leg, the band is back on the road—pulling songs from the new album and their deep catalog and bringing the kind of high-voltage live show fans have come to expect. This stretch also includes a special hometown stop at Blossom Music Center in Ohio. Tickets available here.
