This new compendium from the Prince of the Song, includes “Ya no pienso en ti”, an emotional ballad that had remained previously unpublished until recently.

As it had been reflected in hundreds of creations on TikTok and media coverage, “Ya no pienso en ti” made that different generations of Mexicans throughout the world could live one more time the excitement of discovering a completely unpublished song from the golden age of JOSÉ JOSÉ.

His songs of love and heartbreak, his prodigious voice and his presence, have never stopped being present in the heart of the audience. After only 5 years of his passing, it’s clear that JOSÉ JOSÉ, the legendary Mexican singer that made history in world music, will never board the oblivion ship, and his romantic essence will live forever through his unforgettable songs.

And to honor his memory Sony Music Mexico shares on all the digital platforms: Aún te echamos de menos a very special album which compiles 14 powerful and passionate hymns dedicated to love, along with “Ya No Pienso en Ti”, song unpublished until recently.

Songs such as “Me basta”, “Tú me estás volviendo loco”, “Volcán”, “Preso” or “Seré”, allow us to travel through time and remember the Prince in all his splendour. Another novelty is that all the hits compiled in the album count with a new mastering fulfilled by Memo Gil and Edson R. Heredia, which gives them an extra and contemporary quality to the songs.

José José himself once told great stories about many of the hits included in Aún te echamos de menos. For example, “Almohada”, which is from the authorship of the songwriter from Nicaragua Adan Torres. Legend has it that the author waited for the singer outside from the hotel in one of his visits, to give him his song. José José liked it, recorded the song and turned it into one of the greatest hits of his history. Years later, when it was thought the songwriter was dead, the Prince himself found out that he was actually living in the United States as an undocumented immigrant and traveled to deliver him a check of many thousands of dollars for his royalties.

Moreover, the album includes unforgettable songs such as “Mi vida”, an autobiographical song specially written for José José by Rafael Pérez Botija or “Payaso”, a song that the singer described as “a flag for people who have been through very sad moments”.

“Ya no pienso en ti”, the new song recently released as a single, is a powerful and emotional ballad dedicated to those who are waiting for a sign from above to begin to forget. The lyrics tell the story of a man that, with bitter acceptance, begins to release himself from the memory of an ungrateful love.

Recorded on November 9th of 1978 in England, this unpublished piece discovered by Edson R. Heredia himself, music engineer of Sony Music, brings back the most classical José José, who moves with a performance full of feeling and vocal virtuosity that only he was capable of doing and which premiers its official video, recorded at the 5020 studios of Sony Music Mexico and directed by Héctor González (Cuarto Piso) with the participation of the content creator @elhueycoyote
