ÁLVARO DÍAZ DEBUTS TOP 2 ON SPOTIFY’S TOP ALBUMS DEBUT GLOBAL WITH SOPHOMORE ALBUM ‘SAYONARA’
Álvaro Díaz is currently one of the artists with the most hype in the urban Latin space. In the last few years, he has been sought out by major festivals and artists across the globe for both collaborations and songwriting. Last Friday, Díaz released his critically acclaimed sophomore album ‘Sayonara’ via Universal Music Latino which debuted at #1 in US Latin albums & Top 20 in US General Market on Apple Music – a first in his career and#2on Top Albums Debut Global & #5 on Top Albums Debut USA on Spotify with 17 tracks charting in more than 15 countries and had 3 trending videos on YouTube which were in the Top 15. In addition, Díaz is currently featured on the cover of Rolling Stone Español’s Future 25 issue.

The album’s focus track, “GATITAS SANDUNGUERAS VOL. 1,” features his long-time collaborator and Colombian reggaeton star, FEID, and was produced by Díaz, Caleb Calloway, Slow Jamz, and Jowan. The old school reggaeton bop comes paired with a visual directed by Waiv and Gian and is a nod to Tarantino’s Reservoir Dogs, one of his favorite movie directors. The video includes references to 90s American culture, including campy infomercials and intrusive paparazzi, while highlighting Puerto Rico’s notorious car culture, La Fiebre.
Recently, Díaz was nominated for a Premios HEAT award for Best Regional Artist – North. Up next, Díaz will continue his festival circuit with Sueños Fest in Chicago next weekend followed by Holika Festival on June 27th in Spain, 7 performances at the Reggaeton Beach Festivals across Spain starting on June 29th which includes the Boombastic Festival in Spain July 18-20, and will wrap up the summer with Baja Beach Fest in Baja California on August 9-11.
