ANNIE TRACY RELEASES TRANSCENDENT TRIBUTE TO AUTHENTIC LOVE ON “TO LOVE AND BE LOVED”
North Carolina R&B singer and songwriter Annie Tracy releases “To Love and Be Loved”, a comforting and sonically immersive tribute to true companionship, out now via Warner Records. The lushly appointed single is a testament not only to Annie’s expressive range but also her vivid writing and holistic musical vision.
“To Love and Be Loved” subtly and gradually unfurls across three minutes that build from intimate guitar and aqueous atmosphere at the start to a full orchestral embrace by the finish. Annie’s voice similarly becomes more passionate as her lyrics delve deeper into what it means to have found your partner in this life: “It’s like somewhere so far away / Where troubles go melting away / Except it’s not even a place / Cause home has always been you, babe.”
Annie shared a note ahead of the release: “Fear of love is like the fear of heights — intimidating at first, but once you experience it, you realize you’re no longer afraid. With real, genuine love, you discover the strength to soar. Love doesn’t just lift you; it empowers you to reach the sky.”
That poignant message should come as no surprise to those who’ve been watching Annie’s rise thus far. “To Love and Be Loved” feels like the season of spring captured in song, making it a fitting follow-up to her enchanting and heartfelt winter release, “December (Live).” Earlier in 2024, she released the ACT II EP, which notably included the visceral breakup ballad “Close to You,” featuring Robin Thicke, and the explosively soulful viral TikTok hit “Music Taste,” a warning to an ex’s new partner that went on to amass over 6.75 million streams.
ACT I arrived in 2023, housing Annie’s breakout single “Times It by Two,” produced by D’Mile — the hitmaker behind tracks for Silk Sonic, H.E.R., Chris Brown, and Victoria Monét — which has garnered over 3.4 million streams.
