CHXRRY22 DROPS VIDEO FOR NEW SINGLE “JUST LIKE ME”

Kicking into high gear, rising R&B star Chxrry22 uncovers the music video for her buzzing new single “Just Like Me” out now via XO Records/Republic Records.

Set against a snowy backdrop, the music video is as bold and self-assured as the track itself. Chxrry22 commands every frame with icy swagger, surrounded by lookalikes rocking her signature bangs, fur, and sunglasses. High-octane snowmobile vignettes and slick choreography keep the energy high, while the 2000s-inspired aesthetic adds a nostalgic edge. With every scene, she proves why she’s a star, blending striking visuals with undeniable presence.

Right out of the gate, “Just Like Me” has gained critical acclaim as the praise poured in. Playboy noted, “Bold isn’t an exaggeration when it comes to the talented singer.” Plus ESSENCE applauded, “Chxrry22’s unique sound and storytelling are taking the R&B scene by storm.”

Once again, the song sees Chxrry22 firing on all cylinders as a showstopping and stunning force of nature with her own irresistible and inimitable take on R&B.

It also arrived on the heels of 2024’s “Poppin Out (Mistakes).” Beyond amassing millions of streams, it incited widespread critical acclaim. PAPER raved, “With the punchy new single, ‘Poppin Out (Mistakes),’ Chxrry22 proves that she’s ready to bring unapologetic and free vibes to the world in abundance.” Billboard named it among, “R&B/Hip-Hop Fresh Picks of the Week,” going on to proclaim, “The perfect pre-game playlist for girls night, Chxrry22 crafted an awfully fun bop to reverse a heartbreak.” Rated R&B hailed it as “fiery,” and Happy Mag attested, “Chxrry22 is proving she’s more than just a rising star – she’s here to stay.”

Recently, Chxrry22 made an appearance on the biggest album of the year—The Weeknd’s Hurry Up Tomorrow. She leaves the voicemail on “Reflections Laughing” (feat. Travis Scott, Florence + The Machine). Not to mention, she turns up on screen in the music video for “Cry For Me.”

Beyond plugs from Billboard and more, UPROXX raved, “Chxrry22’s red-hot passion is nothing short of captivating on ‘Siren’,” and Rated R&B professed, “The burgeoning R&B star radiates with confidence on her second EP.” Last year, she also supported Mariah The Scientist on the “To Be Eaten Alive” Tour across the United States. She also performed at Billboard’s THE STAGE at SXSW.

Chxrry22’s artistic journey has been a labor of love, with years dedicated to cultivating her sound. Growing up in the Toronto suburb of Scarborough, she was recognized as “the girl who could sing” from a young age. In 2017, after posting covers on social media, her career began to take off, and a pivotal move to Atlanta led to Chxrry22 signing a historic record deal as the first woman signed to The Weeknd’s XO Records. This signing set the stage for her debut project, The Other Side, capturing the attention of prominent voices and outlets, including Billboard, UPROXX, Vibe, Complex, and Entertainment Tonight. In 2023, Chxrry22 released her critically acclaimed EP, Siren, further solidifying her rising star status. She supported Mariah The Scientist on her North American tour and performed at Billboard’s THE STAGE at SXSW, showcasing her talent to a broader audience. Harnessing vulnerability as a superpower, Chxrry22’s authenticity is her hallmark, epitomizing the spirit of a true 21st-century artist. Now, Chxrry22 enters her next era of new music as she works on her debut album. With each step forward, she continues to define her unique voice and solidify her place in the music industry.
