GENERATION NOW’S R&B SONGSTRESS CARVENA RELEASES HER DEBUT SINGLE “SLEEP IN”

Generation Now’s latest signee, Carvena, has released her debut single, “Sleep In”. “Sleep In” is the first single from Carvena’s upcoming project, Covergirl, slated for release in early 2024. 

“Sleep In” includes production by Cannon and Bobby Kritical [Lil Uzi Vert, Gucci Mane] with silky guitar wraps around a head-nodding drumbeat. Meanwhile, her soft delivery barely contains lusty verses as she confesses, “I like it when you sleep inside of me.” “Have you ever been with somebody you just wanted so bad?” she asks. “It’s like you just want to vibe with this person and be nasty. I’m showing a new side of me. I’m stepping into my womanhood and being extremely comfortable with it. The song wrote itself.” “I’m about love,” she leaves off. “In music, everything doesn’t have to be toxic. You can have other emotions”.

Growing up in Jackson, MS, the singer, songwriter, and guitarist grabbed a hold of music and never let go as a kid. Beyond marveling at her aunts and uncles as their voices rang out in church, she spent hours mimicking the likes of Mary J. Blige and Whitney Houston in front of the mirror. At the age of sixteen, she built a following through a consistent series of popular covers. Making waves through the industry, she wound up in the studio with the likes of Stevie J [Puff Daddy, Mariah Carey], J. White Did It [Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, Beyoncé], and James Fortune. She co-wrote and featured on Tank’s “Elevation” from the R&B legend’s 2019 album of the same name. In between, she appeared on the hit television series The Four and maintained her momentum with independent projects such as the HomeMade EP [2019]. Eventually, she caught the attention of Generation Now Co-Founder and iconic producer, songwriter, and DJ, Don Cannon, who quickly signed her. As Carvena’s artistry continues to grow, expect to see her abundant range on full display.
