Sea Girls have released their latest track ‘Midnight Butterflies’. It is the title-track from their forthcoming new album, to be released on 14th June on the band’s new independent label Alt. Records. Pre-order from Sea Girls Official Store here. This new track comes alongside the announcement that Sea Girls will be appearing at this year’s Radio 1 Big Weekend in Luton.  The band will be on the New Music Stage on Sunday 26th May.

The opening track of the new album ‘Midnight Butterflies’ is an epic all-encompassing widescreen piece of guitar pop perfection. Sea Girls have never sounded so confident and creatively refreshed as they do here. It was co-written, produced & mixed with Matt Schwartz of Yungblud and Dylan fame.

Frontman Henry Camamile talks about Midnight Butterflies –

“’Midnight Butterflies’ is a true expression of living in the moment, only caring about the next 24 hours – living like a midnight butterfly. It’s about recalling those euphoric nights, and the pull that comes with that energy. I think that is something we all crave especially as you take on more responsibilities in life”.

“We wanted the opening song on Midnight Butterflies to really represent our approach to the album, which is all about letting go, allowing yourself to indulge in that need to escape and be carefree. I think we all crave that, especially as you take on more responsibility in life.”

The new single follows a mini sold-out UK tour, The Young Strangers Tour, that culminated last night at a packed Koko in London, and prior to that the group’s first tour of Australia.

The new album ‘Midnight Butterflies’ is focused melodic joy, pop perfection in twelve parts. It’s the confident sound of a band arriving at their peak. It’s smart, positive pop music for the 21st century that is genuine, authentic, and with a positive message running all the way through. Sea Girls creatively are utterly rejuvenated on this record, a true artistic statement. The band’s previous two albums have been building towards this moment, and this totally modern, open-hearted four piece are set for their biggest year yet in 2024.

The band have worked with some of the most exciting producers around on ‘Midnight Butterflies’. ‘Young Strangers’ was co-written with Kid Harpoon, producer of Harry Styles album ‘Harry’s House’, while Benjy Gibson, who worked on Fred again…’s ‘Actual Life 3’, co-wrote and produced album highlight ‘Scream and Shout’. ‘First On My List’ was co-written & produced with Rich Cooperwho has previously worked with Rina Sawayama and CMAT. The Nocturns who have made a name for themselves with Mimi Webb worked on the comeback single ‘Weekends & Workdays’ and ‘I Want You To Know Me’, ‘Polly’ and ‘Horror Movies’ were produced with Dan Bryer (Tom Grennan).
