slowthai announces ‘Best Night Of Your Life’ UK Pub Tour

slowthai returned last week with details of his third studio album UGLY. Released on March 3rd via Method Records, it launched with new single ‘Selfish’

To celebrate, slowthai spent an extended period of time inside a custom built room fitted floor to ceiling with 2-way mirrors. As an exercise of patience and self-reflection, he was left alone with just paint, paper and nothing to look at but himself. He entered the room on the evening of Jan 24th and continued to spend time with himself throughout the following day while being live streamed to the world. After 8 hours of fans watching and commenting on his period of solitude, the video for ‘Selfish’ launched.

Now freed from his self-inflicted confinement he is ready to party with you all with the announcement of his first headline shows in a year in partnership with world-famous spirit brand Jägermeister. Quite the jump from 5,000 capacity Brixton Academy to the 150 capacity George Tavern pub in London, he’s taking it back to basics and running up 6 intimate shows in local pubs across the country.

Slowthai says “I make music for myself but I wouldn’t be where I am without my fans. It’s important to me that people can have access to me and my music so I wanted to go to some new places and play this album first. Times are tough for a lot of people and working with Jägermeister has helped me keep tickets to only a quid.”

Keeping tickets at an inflation-busting £1 (1p up from his famed 99p tour in 2019), slowthai wants his very hardcore supporters to get the chance to see the carnage that’s undoubtedly going to unfold in these tiny, sweaty rooms. The pub tour is also very fitting with slowthai’s tweak in direction musically – bringing his love of rock, indie and punk to the forefront on new album UGLY, and local pubs are where many fledgling bands cut their teeth on the live circuit – a vital stepping stone for many.
