Rapper Lil Keed’s estate releases the highly anticipated Keed Talk To ‘Em 2 album. Executive produced by Keed’s #1 fan and biggest inspiration — his 4-year-old daughter Naychur Render, Keed Talk To ‘Em 2 is the culmination of songs recorded over several years up until a week before his passing. The album comes as the second iteration of his acclaimed 2018 album Keed Talk To ‘Em and serves as a colorful display of Keed’s undeniable musical impact, versatile tone and lyricism. This versatility is everpresent throughout the 20-track effort, which includes songs like “How Many” Ft. Offset, “Kickback” featuring both of his blood brothers Lil Gotit and StickBaby, and “Love Me Again”, which his daughter is known for singing word for word; a song inspired by his daughter’s mother. The album also houses collaborations from the likes of NAV, Big Sean, Trippie Redd, Cordae, KayCyy, and Fridayy, as well as features from Young Stoner Life Records’ very own Young Thug, Dolly White, and Karlae.
Alongside Keed Talk To ‘Em 2 comes the video for standout track “Hitman” directed by Mikey Rare. Keed stars in the visual, his star power on display throughout each verse and frame.
In a quote from Kevin Liles [Co-founder of 300 Entertainment and Chairman/C.E.O. of 300 Elektra Entertainment] he states “This album is about honoring Keed’s legacy as an artist, a son, a father and much more. As a label, our responsibility was to work closely with his family to bring Keed’s vision to life and make sure we were fulfilling the responsibility to his fans with Keed Talk To ‘Em 2. Keed was an integral part of the Young Stoner Life Records/ 300 Entertainment family. His presence is felt and legacy will forever be remembered — Long Live Keed!”
Lil Keed’s brother and fellow rapper Lil Gotit adds color to the project, saying “This is one of the best albums he ever put out. He spoke from his heart in this music and everyone is behind him 100%. I’m happy I was able to work with him on SRT and ‘Kickback’ with our brother Stick Baby. This whole project and everything outside of the music meant a lot to him so we had to make sure everything is perfect.”
The album was first announced in a personal note from Keed’s mother Tonnie Woods-Reed in January. In the statement, his mother explains that Keed was hard at work on the album right before his passing and the release serves as the cementing of his legacy. The first single from the album was the sentimental “Long Way To Go” in which the music video featured cameos from Keed’s daughter, mother, brothers, collaborators, and many more. The second single“Self Employed” followed, alongside a visual, which serves as another snapshot of Keed’s final moments and shows him in his element, in his city surrounded by family and friends.
