Unleashed Porsche is Back in Action in ‘Bad Boys: Ride or Die’

Sony Pictures’ latest film, “Bad Boys: Ride or Die”, is now exclusively showing in theaters worldwide. The film features the 992-generation Porsche 911 Turbo S in a key supporting role, marking the third time a Zuffenhausen sports car has been featured in the popular franchise.
This summer, the ‘Bad Boys’ return with their signature blend of thrilling action and hilarious comedy, but with a new twist: Miami’s top cops are now fugitives. In this chapter, audiences will see Detective Mike Lowrey, played by Will Smith, behind the wheel of a black 911 Turbo S Coupe, notable for its distinctive rear spoiler.
“Dominique Tascioglu, Manager of Brand & Content Marketing, states, ““The Porsche 911 has been instrumental in forging the bond between the iconic ‘Bad Boys’ Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett for nearly three decades.”” Ayesha Coker, Vice President of Marketing for Porsche Cars North America, Inc, adds, ““Their adventures have cultivated and inspired Porsche enthusiasts worldwide. We extend our gratitude to Bruckheimer Films and Sony for their unwavering passion and belief over the years. It’s been an extraordinary journey to be a part of, and we eagerly anticipate the latest 911 Turbo S in ‘Bad Boys: Ride or Die.’ We’ll be keeping a keen eye out for the cameo appearance of the original Bad Boys car, the 911 Turbo – type 964.””

Porsche was present at various global premieres of “Bad Boys: Ride or Die.” Alongside the actual film car from the current installment, the iconic 964-generation Porsche 911 Turbo from the first film was also showcased in Los Angeles, USA. Additional automotive understudies were on display at launches in Berlin, Germany; Dubai, United Arab Emirates; and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. At these premieres, Turbo models from the 992 and 964 generations were featured. In Berlin, actors, filmmakers, and international guests arrived at the red carpet event in Porsche sports cars.
Will Smith and Martin Lawrence have been a reliable duo since the nineties. The inaugural ‘Bad Boys’ action film debuted in 1995, and given the fast-paced nature of narcotics agents, the characters drove a Porsche even then: Director Michael Bay used a classic, black 964-generation 911 Turbo 3.6 from his personal collection in the first movie. This was followed by “Bad Boys II” in 2003, and then “Bad Boys for Life” in 2020, which featured a Gentian Blue 992-generation 911 Carrera 4S. The latter grossed $432.2 million worldwide, making it the most viewed installment of the franchise to date and the highest-grossing film of 2020.
