Volkswagen ID. Buzz takes center stage with THEOPHOLIO at New York Fashion Week

Volkswagen of America, Inc. and New York–based fashion label THEOPHILIO came together during New York Fashion Week to showcase a powerful blend of heritage, style, and electric innovation. Designer Edvin Thompson’s RIDDIM collection shared the spotlight with the all-electric ID. Buzz, wrapped in THEOPHILIO’s signature print and reimagined as both a stage centerpiece and symbol of cultural storytelling.
The collaboration featured an ID. Buzz, custom-wrapped in THEOPHILIO’s Spring/Summer 2026 print, serving as a focal point of the runway presentation. The show opened with a model emerging from the ID. Buzz, setting the tone for the evening’s main event. Titled RIDDIM, the new collection of apparel draws inspiration from Caribbean diaspora and parallels the vibrant design and adventurous spirit of the ID. Buzz. Aligning with THEOPHILIO’s use of bold colors and expressive patterns, Volkswagen and THEOPHILIO created an experience that connected culture, fashion and mobility.

“The ID. Buzz was born to turn heads, and Edvin Thompson’s vision and creativity takes its energy to the next level,” said Jeannine Ginivan, Chief Communications Officer at Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. “His love for our brand and the ID. Buzz makes this collaboration a powerful intersection of creativity and culture.”
“RIDDIM is a celebration of movement, memory, and the rhythm of the road,” said Thompson. “This collection is inspired by my travels with friends, the long drives, quick stops, and unforgettable moments where we left traces of ourselves everywhere we go.”

The ID. Buzz, inspired by the iconic Volkswagen Microbus, reimagines mobility for a new generation with bold color options, spacious design, and all-electric performance. The vehicle embodies a spirit of exploration and design-forward living that resonates with THEOPHILIO’s audience and a broader cultural landscape.
