19.º Anual ‘Feed A Friend’ Celebrado en Give Miami Day por The Gloria Estefan Foundation

Since 2007, Gloria and Emilio Estefan have celebrated Thanksgiving by hosting ‘Feed A Friend’, an event that brings food and smiles to those that need it most in our community. In partnership with generous sponsors, The Gloria Estefan Foundation invites local charities to enjoy delicious food and entertainment provided by the Estefan family and wonderful, great-hearted celebrities. In 2020, due to the pandemic the traditional event could not be hosted safely.

However, that did not stop the Estefans and partnering sponsors from continuing to give to those in need. In the true spirit of Thanksgiving, The Gloria Estefan Foundation kept the tradition alive by making donations to 15 organizations on ‘Give Miami Day’, Thursday, November 17th 2025. We hope these funds will help bring some holiday cheer to families and we look forward to resuming our annual Thanksgiving Day Feed A Friend in the coming years.

“Giving is not just about making a donation, it’s about making a difference. When you give with a full heart you plant seeds of hope that bloom in ways you may never see, and the simplest act of kindness can light the darkest corners of the world.” – Gloria Estefan, Founder of The Gloria Estefan Foundation.

The Gloria Estefan Foundation

Founded in 1997, the Gloria Estefan foundation promotes education, health and cultural development. The organization funds itself through proceeds from several of Gloria’s songs, benefit concerts and donations from supporters. The singer has said, “My foundation tries to help people that fall through the cracks, that can’t get help from big organizations… We try to fill in where immediate help is needed.”

National Women’s Shelter (NWSN)

The National Women’s Shelter Network leads, connects and supports a growing, nation-wide, network of women’s and family shelters and safe havens serving women, children and families experiencing homelessness in our country. An estimated 1 Million women and 2.5 Million children experience homelessness in our country every year. A majority of women and children experiencing homelessness have suffered gender-based violence and other serious trauma histories. Most have unmet medical and mental health needs. All are struggling to survive, heal, learn, grow and thrive, keep their families intact and alive, and too often fleeing domestic or intimate partner violence. Women’s and family shelters and safe havens are the last resort and final safety net for women, children and families in transition desperately seeking a “home,” a place to call their own and the foundation for happier, healthier and safer lives. The NWSN supports the important work of women’s and family shelters across the nation through information sharing, educational offerings, highlighting best practices, research and innovation, raising public awareness and resources, national conferences, and informing public and social policies to end and prevent homelessness.
