MEGAN MORONEY RINGS IN HER LATEST NO. 1 HIT WITH “6 MONTHS LATER” PARTY IN NASHVILLE

Sony Music Nashville/Columbia Records singer/songwriter Megan Moroney celebrated her latest Country radio No. 1 hit, “6 Months Later” with a packed party hosted by SESAC. A PLATINUM-certified smash, “6 Months Later” was the first song released from the Country superstar’s Billboard 200-topping new album Cloud 9.
“I want to give a huge thank you to every single person here. Thank you for believing in me and my music — when I’m in the room and when I’m not in the room, and for cheering for me,” says Moroney. “I feel so lucky to get to do this — I wake up everyday and still can’t believe it’s real. When I think about the writing process of this song, it was just so much fun – and how crazy that it was written with three married men? So the fact that it went No. 1 and resonated with so many people just makes it that much cooler and more special.”
Written by Moroney (SESAC), Ben Williams (ASCAP), David “Messy” Mescon (BMI), and Rob Hatch (SESAC) and produced by Kristian Bush, “6 Months Later” dropped last June and instantly shot to No. 30 on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100, marking her biggest chart debut to date. Spotlighting her knack for pairing playful humor with real emotional depth (a dynamic brought to brilliant life in its official music video, co-directed by Moroney), the self-assured post-breakup bop also rocketed to No. 1 on Spotify’s Top Song Debut chart and landed in the Top 10 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs tally. Since its premiere, “6 Months Later” has sparked a wave of acclaim and earned raves from leading critics like The New York Times’ Lindsay Zoladz, who hailed Moroney as “the reigning queen of sad-girl country” and noted that the song showcases her “conversational delivery, husky drawl and dryly cutting lyrics.”
Held at SESAC headquarters, the “6 Months Later” No. 1 bash transformed the building’s rooftop into a Cloud 9-inspired pink paradise. Attendees arrived in head-to-toe pink and sipped pink champagne topped with cotton candy clouds. With bites from Raising Cane’s rounding out the festivities, the party also included details as delightfully on-brand as custom cookies and themed hats for all guests.
