A$AP NAST SHARES NEW VIDEO SINGLE” AMG MUSIC” FEAT. DESTROY LONELY
Harlem style icon and creative multi-hyphenate A$AP NAST has just shared a new single “AMG Music” featuring new wave Atlanta rapper Destroy Lonely — out now via AWGE / OPIUM — the second offering from his long-awaited forthcoming debut album 90s Era Nasty Vol. 1. It arrives with a slick music video directed by Bladi and shot on 35mm film in Paris, featuring NAST, Lone, and BloodyOsiris whipping a 1994 Mercedes AMG E-Class S124 on a sinister late night mission. Produced by UK hitmaker Kelvin Krash, the track connects two of NAST’s sonic worlds, channeling the brash, head-knocking energy of early A$AP tapes while tapping into the explosive rage sound made popular by new labelmate Playboi Carti. The new music signals a renewed sense of purpose for NAST, who spent the last year reflecting on his artistic mindset. “I need to make a solid body of work and give it to the fans” he explained in his VMAN cover interview earlier this year. “I love music, I love rap… I’m not just giving you music, I’m giving you the full package.”
Last month, A$AP NAST dropped the lead single “No Hammer” alongside his official album merch, a 12 piece collaboration with Comme Des Garçons Shirt, marking the first time the storied label has worked with a musician. It’s his latest in a flurry of career milestones including featuring on Cultured Magazine’s Cult 100 list of artists shaping culture, sitting front row at Paris Fashion Week shows by Louis Vuitton and Willy Chavarria, and starring in global campaigns for Y-3, Diesel, MCM and more. Since helping establish A$AP Mob in 2006, A$AP NAST has flourished as a multifaceted creative and torchbearer for New York style. He now returns to music with a reinvigorated desire to remind the world of his musical talent and hip-hop pedigree. His recent signing to OPIUM hints at the direction of his long-awaited debut album 90s Era Nasty Vol. 1., bridging vintage east coast rap with cutting edge soundscapes.
