ALEXANDER 23 RELEASES “COSPLAY (STRIPPED)” RECORDED IN THE ROCKSTAR ENERGY SPOTLIGHT STUDIOS
Headline tour kicks off next month + Supporting girl in red on European tour
Part of Rockstar Energy Drink’s Spotlight Studio’s activation, GRAMMY®-nominated artist, Alexander 23 releases a stripped back version of his track “Cosplay”. On the euphoric rock-influenced yet melancholy track the rising artist explores past relationships. His honest lyricism over acoustic guitar evokes raw emotions, “’Cause we’ve both been here before, and baby I don’t know what to think. Should we call it quits before we go from friends to enemies?” Listen to the reimagined version HERE via Interscope Records.
Earlier this year the Chicago-native released his debut album, Aftershock which features collaborations with Dan Nigro, Olivia Rodrigo, Amy Allen, Charlie Puth, and Jeremy Zucker, who co-wrote “Cosplay.” The project went on to receive support from Rolling Stone, Billboard, V Magazine, People Magazine, ET Online, and more. With Aftershock, Alexander 23 had a whirlwind year. It began when the pop savant released the Olivia Rodrigo co-written “Hate Me If It Helps,” and went on to include critical acclaim for singles like the “Crash,” as well as support slots for like-minded artists John Mayer and Tate McRae. This summer he played several festival dates including a headline hometown show as well as sets at Lollapalooza, Life Is Beautiful, and Firefly in Dover, Delaware. This spring he’s set to open for girl in red on a string of European dates and in the fall, he will embark on his first headlining tour of North America, the UK, and Europe; dates and ticketing info are HERE.
This national Rockstar Energy-curated music program champions new breaking artists by providing fans with a one-of-a-kind consumer experience including live concerts and a state-of-the-art interactive mobile music studio. Though the tour recently ended, the recorded music from each featured artist will be released throughout the summer as the program continues to spotlight voices that are breaking the mold and blurring the lines of traditional music genres.
