American Honda Posts Strong May Results on Balanced Sales of Cars, Trucks and Electrified Models

American Honda sales totaled 135,432 units in May on strong results from light trucks (93,143 units), passenger cars (42,289) and record sales for electrified models (38,908), supported by the success of all-new products for the Honda and Acura brands.

Honda

• Honda brand totaled 122,743 in May sales, up 7.3% over May 2024 and 8.3% YTD, with passenger cars and light trucks posting strong sales, and electrified models achieving a new May record.
• Honda light trucks posted a third straight month over 80,000 units, up 8.2% YoY and up 15.9% YTD
  • CR-V was once again the Honda brand sales leader (37,848 units), with hybrid sales over 50% of mix
  • Pilot sales of 11,220 units are up 2.8% YTD
  • All-new Passport hit record May sales (5,480), up 74%, with TrailSport models at about 76% of sales mix
  • HR-V posted strong May sales of 13,258
  • Prologue sales topped 2,000 units
  • Odyssey sales of 8,712 units were up 14.2% YoY
  • Ridgeline sales up 15.1% YTD with May sales of 4,289 units
• Honda passenger car sales posted the best sales month of 2025, approaching 40,000 units, led by Civic with 25,809 units, and Accord with 14,017 units.
• Honda electrified vehicles set a new sales record for May with 37,035 units, while Civic hybrid set its own May record.

Acura

• Acura brand sales totaled 12,689 units in May, powered by a strong performance of the all-new Acura ADX premium SUV.
• Acura SUV sales of 10,226 were up 6% in May
  • Acura ADX, the brand’s new gateway SUV, totaled 1,542 in May, capturing about 20% share of the segment while still early in its sales launch
  • MDX sales reached 3,880 units in May
  • RDX posted May sales of 2,931 units with improved inventory
  • All-electric ZDX monthly sales totaled 1,873 units
• Acura sedan sales topped 2,400 units for the third straight month with Integra logging sales of 1,776 while continuing to lead its segment with almost 40% retail market share; Type S models made up over 15% of sales mix.
