ANITTA AND MELODY JOIN FORCES ON “MIL VEZES REMIX”

THE BRAZILIAN STAR RELEASES NEW VERSION OF GLOBAL HIT “MIL VECES” – IN “PISEIRO” STYLE WITH LYRICS IN PORTUGUESE

Anitta releases “Mil Vezes — Remix,” in collaboration with Brazilian singer Melody. The track is a Portuguese version of “Mil Veces”, a hit released by the carioca superstar in 2023. The new arrangement is influenced by piseiro style (a genre from Brazil’s Northeast region), and the lyrics have new verses. A new lyric video will also be available on the girl from Rio’s YouTube channel at the same time.

“I always thought that ‘Mil Veces’ was a great match for Melody’s timbre and style. And it really did! This remix is exciting, I’m so happy it finally happened”, says Anitta.

In the original version, the lyrics tell the ups and downs of a toxic relationship. But in the new remix, in Portuguese, the vibe is different: “The lyrics of the remix are light, fun, pure flirtation, get it? It’s already stuck in my head, I’m loving it,” mentions Anitta. The title of the track has also been changed and translated into Portuguese. This change is also reflected in the sound of the remix, which is strongly influenced by danceable rhythms from Northeast Brazil.

Melody celebrates their collaboration and says, “It was very gratifying to see the result of the song, it was addictive. Anitta sent me a video of herself recording and I found the way she performed the vocals very exciting. I think my touch was really the pop piseiro and also my personality in the song. I think it fits very well with Anitta’s style. The crowd will love it!.

Rick Assunção, the producer responsible for the new version, explains: “Based on the original song, the remix brings references to piseiro, which is a rhythm originally created in the Northeast of the country. We combined the two styles to make a ‘pop piseiro’,” he says. He is well known in Brazil for his work with Barões da Pisadinha and MC Danny.

Musicians Vitinho do Acordeon and Amaury Honorato(who won a GRAMMY for his work with Marília Mendonça) also took part in the production, which also features lyrics in Portuguese by Bella Angel, Melody’s sister.
