Arc De Soleil announces debut album + shares new single “Dunes of Djoser”
Arc De Soleil announces his debut album, Lumin Rain, due June 27th, 2025 via Maison Arts. Alongside the announcement, he shares his second offering, “Dunes of Djoser”. Like the previously released “Sunchaser,” “Dunes of Djoser” draws inspiration from a transformative trip to Egypt. While “Sunchaser” explores the awe-inspiring spiritual power of the sun, reminiscent of the reverence ancient Egyptians had for Ra, “Dunes of Djoser” invites listeners into a space where the boundaries of time blur.
Reflecting on his experience, Daniel shares, “I tried to write about an experience I had while in the Saqqara desert, visiting the ancient Djoser Pyramid. Somehow the place made me feel connected to the past and present at the same time… like stepping into a realm where time was perceived differently.”
The project of Swedish visionary Daniel Kadawatha, who single-handedly controls every element of his music – writing, performing all instrumentation, producing, and mixing each of his tracks – Arc De Soleil combines elements of funk, rock, psychedelia, and world music to create a sound that is both nostalgic and contemporary.

Since 2019, when Kadawatha first released music under the Arc De Soleil moniker, the project has been a hidden gem for music heads while racking up over 250 million streams on Spotify alone. With very little information previously available about where the music came from, fans took to comment sections and Reddit threads in an attempt to piece together who this mysterious musician is. Through it all, Kadawatha simply continued to make songs and quietly release them on his own with over three dozen singles and EPs put out, including widely-streamed projects such as The Thief in Marrakesh Got Caught in Amsterdam Trying to Escape, which plays out like the soundtrack to a 60’s spy movie, and the Thai-influenced psychedelia of Libertalia whose “Mumbo Sugar” recalls Khun Narin Electric Phin Band while earning comparisons to Khruangbin by fans. Yet his sound is much more widely encompassing than that as he shifts through genre and influence on projects like Bocosaurus where rhythm and funk take over in place of melodic fingerpicking.
After completing a sold-out European tour to start 2025 and a sold-out US ballroom tour in the fall of 2024, Arc De Soleil is gearing up for another limited run of U.S. dates, including performances at Electric Forest Festival and opening for Vulfpeck at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Following his US dates, he will support Leon Bridges at Alexandra Palace Park in London.
