GRAMMY® nominated artist, David Gray announced his new single, “After The Harvest” out this Friday via Gray’s independent label, Laugh A Minute Records/Secretly Distribution from his forthcoming thirteenth album, Dear Life

“After The Harvest” is the second single from Dear Life, set to release on January 17th, following Gray’s “Plus & Minus.” This track delves into themes of crisis and disillusionment, evoking a sense of familiarity while exploring fresh territory for the British singer-songwriter. With rap-inspired vocals layered over delicate guitar chords, the song seamlessly alternates between simple choruses and intricate melodies, marking a bold evolution for Gray while honoring his musical roots.

Of the track, Gray said “This song is one of my favourites from the new batch of recordings. The lyrics were a sheer pleasure to write. Right from the word ‘go’ the cadences of soft word endings suggested themselves to me as the song began to take shape, and all the intoxicating rhyming schemes came tumbling out one after the other. The story unfolds from an older woman’s point of view – feeling like a dried out husk, when the kids have gone, what’s left of you? What do you matter to the world?”

The physical release of Dear Life will include two additional tracks, “The Messenger” and “More Than Anything”, available exclusively on Vinyl/CD format. Fans can catch Gray on his upcoming Past & Present World Tour kicking off January 24th in Boston, Massachusetts. Full list of tour dates below and more information HERE.
