HEADLINING ‘DON’T MESS WITH TEXAS’ TOUR MAKES LANDFALL IN DALLAS THIS WEEKEND

BigXthaPlug returns with a brand new visual for “Whip It” off of the deluxe version of his acclaimed debut album, Amar. As he raps slick rhymes over a funky bassline, the Dallas rapper finds his groove and perfectly captures a ‘70s nostalgic feel.

In the accompanying visual, BigX hits the dance floor for his follow up to June’s “Boy” collab with Big Yavo. Directed by Jerry Morka, the video reimagines the disco era, but with a modern twist. BigX fully commits to the moment, armed with a can of his custom “Whip It” afro sheen as he introduces a 2023 rendition of Dazz Band’s classic hit “Let It Whip.”

BigX’s latest release arrives halfway through his headlining Don’t Mess With Texas Tour with Big Yavo. Leading one crowded show after another, the 11-date run has rolled through major markets (including Miami, New York and Los Angeles) ahead of the anticipated hometown show in Dallas, Texas at The Bomb Factory this Saturday (Aug 19). Last month, “Whip It” exploded on TikTok with countless videos as a result of a dance craze that Jasmyn Charese helped kickstart. The viral #WhipItChallenge has gained support from cheerleading teams, HBCUs, and even made its way onto Charli D’amelio’s social media.

BigXthaPlug has been on a tear this year following the release of his seminal debut album, Amar (Feb 10) – which has topped Billboard’s Heatseekers Chart, with four consecutive weeks at #1.
