COMET RELEASES NEW EP QUITTER

Fresh off her selection to Alternative Press‘s 25 of the Most Exciting Rising Artists to Watch in 2025 list, NYC alt-rock/nu-grunge artist Comet has just released her new EP Quitter — out now. The project follows lead single “Opium”, which arrived in March along with a Fiona Kane-directed (quannnic, Hotline TNT, Melody English) music video and was praised by PAPER, Alternative Press, and more. A four-track outing that finds Comet leaning into the world of pop-rock, Quitter is produced by Richard Orofino of Sex Week and follows her 2023 project Two-Winged.
On Quitter, Comet shares: “I’ve written a lot of heavy music, and this set of songs is my silver lining among the rubble. Being a ‘quitter’ means letting go of something you know wasn’t meant for you. So many people spend their whole lives appeasing others. More people should quit everything and live for themselves.”
Hailing from New York City, Comet first arrived on the scene in 2021, turning heads with songs like “Beauty Marks” and “Disappearing Act” and garnering comparisons to the likes of Kim Gordon, Courtney Love, and Fiona Apple for her gritty, commanding vocals and poignant songwriting. Following the release of the aforementioned Two-Winged, recent months have seen her provide direct support for Jazmin Bean, as well as urika’s bedroom at Perfectly Imperfect and You Missed It‘s February show (which also featured DJ sets from Chanel Beads and Quiet Light), in addition to her solo European tour last fall.
